Around 60-year-old Padmini Majhi has been living in a fragile hut in Dhungiapani village under Umerkote Block in Nabarangpur district, Odisha, for nearly 25 years. After losing her husband and son, and with her daughter married, Padmini is now living alone in extreme poverty without a proper house or government allowance.
