The Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate Police has issued guidelines restricting police personnel from taking or sharing photographs and videos related to their duty without permission, particularly at sensitive installations. The restrictions cover locations including Lok Bhavan, Lok Seva Bhavan, Sri Lingaraj Temple, the Odisha Legislative Assembly, Orissa High Court and the Reserve Bank of India. The directive comes after instances of police personnel sharing duty, deployment and workplace-related content on social media. Authorities said such posts could inadvertently reveal sensitive security information and create security challenges.
