With the Class 10 board examinations approaching, several schools are reportedly struggling with an acute shortage of subject teachers. In some schools, there are no teachers to teach Mathematics, while Physical Education teachers are reportedly taking Science classes. A single teacher is also being tasked with teaching subjects ranging from Literature to Social Science in some schools. The schools are reportedly functioning with only a handful of teachers despite government directions for teacher appointments. The situation has raised concerns among students and parents, with protests being reported at different places across the state.
