Tension erupted at Puri District Headquarters Hospital following the death of Damodar Mohanty, a resident of Niladri Vihar in Mangalaghat under Baseli Sahi police limits in Puri. Damodar had reportedly gone to Nuanai with his friends for a picnic on Sunday afternoon. Later in the evening, his family received news of his death. When the family reached the hospital, his body had already been placed in the mortuary. Relatives questioned the circumstances surrounding his death and raised concerns over why the body had been moved to the mortuary before a police investigation. Damodar’s wife and family members have alleged that he was murdered. However, the cause and circumstances of his death remain unclear, and no response was available from the hospital authorities or police at the time of reporting.
