Hirakud Update: 3 More Gates Closed, 19 Gates Now Discharging Floodwater

ଧୀରେ ଧୀରେ କମୁଛି ହୀରାକୁଦ ଜଳସ୍ତର। ବନ୍ଦ ହେଲା ହୀରାକୁଦ ଜଳଭଣ୍ଡାରର ଆଉ 3 ଗେଟ୍। ଏବେ 19ଟି ଗେଟ୍ ଦେଇ ବନ୍ୟାଜଳ ନିଷ୍କାସନ ହେଉଛି। ପର୍ଯ୍ୟାୟକ୍ରମେ ହୀରାକୁଦର ଗେଟ୍ ବନ୍ଦ ପରେ ମହନଦୀରେ କମୁଛି ଜଳପ୍ରବାହ। ଏବେ ଡ୍ୟାମ୍ ର ଜଳପତ୍ତନ ୬୨୯.୬୫ ଫୁଟ୍ ରହିଛି। ଏହି ସମୟରେ ଡ୍ୟାମ୍ କୁ ୪ ଲକ୍ଷ ୧୬ ହଜାର ୭୭୦ କ୍ୟୁସେକ୍ ଜଳ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରୁଥିବା ବେଳେ ପ୍ରାୟ ସମାନ ପରିମାଣର ଜଳ ନିଷ୍କାସିତ ହେଉଛି।

The water level at Hirakud Reservoir is gradually declining, prompting the closure of three more gates. Floodwater is now being discharged through 19 gates, while the phased closure of gates has also reduced the flow of water into the Mahanadi. The dam’s water level currently stands at 629.65 feet. At present, around 4,16,770 cusecs of water is entering the reservoir, while nearly the same volume is being released.
