Odisha remains on weather alert as a low-pressure area has formed over the South Andaman Sea and adjoining areas. It is likely to move west-northwestwards and intensify into a well-marked low-pressure area within the next 24 hours. Meanwhile, the remnants of Cyclone Arnab have weakened into a depression over southern Odisha adjoining southern Chhattisgarh.

A red alert has been issued for Sundargarh and Bargarh districts for the next 24 hours, with orange alerts for Keonjhar, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda and Mayurbhanj. Yellow alerts have been issued for several other districts. Winds may reach 30–40 kmph, with gusts up to 50 kmph.

In the last 24 hours, Patrapur in Ganjam recorded 546 mm of rainfall, followed by Sorada with 503.8 mm, G. Udayagiri with 462.4 mm and Mahendragarh in Gajapati with 458.8 mm. Flooding and waterlogging have affected parts of Ganjam and Gajapati.

Regional Meteorological Centre Director Manorama Mohanty explained that the cyclone's slower movement was linked to the time taken to change direction during landfall.
